Like a Chola

Since I live in a community where cholos are very common, I usually hear about how bad**s they are but I though about it... can't girls be "cool" too?
So... I recommend you to read this:

You know what chola means?

Maybe you do. Maybe you do not.

Maybe, when thinking about a chola, a girl with tons of makeup, a sharpee-line/triangle-shaped for eyebrows, and lots of mascara might pop up in your mind. A girl who spends hours straighting her hair. A girl who takes pictures in front of the mirror while making “duck faces.” That’s not a chola.

For me, a chola is more than appearances. It is part of your personality.

It is a woman who doesn’t care about looking sexy; a make-up-free face, a random sweater, old tennis shoes, and some sweats will be enough to go out to wonder around the streets. She is confident in her self and knows that she doesn’t have to show her body or look like a clown in order to attract attention. A woman with a tough character, guts, and initiative. A woman that even though she might look scary to some, deeply inside is a sweet, delicate, kind woman.

She is a girl that people might think that does not have manners. She climbs the trees and is a daughter of mother nature. Her monkey-like actions and manly aura has driven the guys attention away from her. They certainly think that she is hot, but seeing her acting so tough has even make some people think that she is lesbian.

She might be a chola, and she might be looking for a cholo… but she is not looking for that cholo guy who babbles about how much he loves gangster music or corridos that talk about killing people. Most importantly, she is definitely not looking for that one guy who dreams about getting high and have bunch of bitches. She is certainly not looking for a saint, but she obviously doesn’t want a devil. She is just not looking for a bloody, assassin, nor a psycho; she knows that any of this will eventually end up in jail or dead. So being a cholo might not even help you win her heart.

Despite there is always that one guy who doesn’t care and approaches her to test his luck.

He tells her hi. She ignores him.

He asks him “Whatssup?”

“Who the fuck are you?” she answers.

Oh yeah, she is a hard one to get.

She is smart. She doesn’t want to end up like the people she has seen. The easy girls who stupidly falls in love with some random guy and then they ruin their lives. Moreover, she likes to see how the guys try to catch her, but they can’t. She enjoys seeing you suffer. And now, you know it.

You see her again. You decide to test your luck again.

You tell your friend that you are going to try that “bitch” … and she heard this.

That’s strike one.

Go up to her. “Hey, what’s your name?”

She looks at you… and walks away.

She didn’t appreciates the way you called her because she is not a dog. The dog is you for calling her like that.

Your pride tells you to not try again… but you saw her a couple of times looking at you. Yes, she did notice you, but she will not accept it… and after that one fail because of your vocabulary your chances have decrease.

And you now know you have become addicted to her game. And yeah, you are now the dog because you haven’t only made yourself look pretty dumb with your words… but you will now follow her because you are not any dog, you are her dog - and you will follow her until she looks at you as a human being.

Como vivo en una comunidad donde los cholos abundan, usualmente escucho hacerca de lo cabr*nes que son pero pense... porque las chicas no pueden ser tan "cool" como los chicos cholos? No hablo hacerca de la cholas que se visten como una, y no solo me refiero a las cholas pero a todas aquellas mujeres que son simplemte SUPER cool por naturaleza, no porque son parte de una moda pero porque son ching*nas, fuertes, listas, el tipo de mujer que no se deja juguetear, que es dificil en caer por un hombre y aún así tiene hombres muriendose por ella... bueno, esa es para mi una chica "cool." Por estas razónes se me ocurrió este dibujo.
